1. Who we are

ScoutCY ("we", "us") is a Cyprus-based property aggregator operated by Dr. Kevin Rudolph. Contact: hello@scoutcy.com. Full legal details on our Imprint page.

2. What data we collect and why

Email addressYou provide it when joining the waitlist or setting up a property alert. We use it only to send alerts matching your saved search and occasional product updates. Legal basis: your explicit consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).

Search preferencesDistrict, transaction type (rent/buy), budget. Stored alongside your email to filter alerts. Legal basis: consent.

Server logsStandard web server logs (IP address, browser, URL, timestamp) retained for up to 7 days by Vercel for security and debugging. We do not use these for tracking.

3. What we do not collect

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising networks, or fingerprinting. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not collect payment information (not applicable at current stage).

4. Data processors (sub-processors)

Vercel Inc.Hosts the ScoutCY web application. EU data may transit US servers under Vercel’s DPA and SCCs.

Amazon Web Services (AWS)Database (RDS) in eu-central-1 (Frankfurt). Your email and preferences are stored here.

Resend Inc.Transactional email delivery (alerts, waitlist confirmation). Processes your email address to deliver messages.

5. Retention

We retain your email and preferences for as long as your alert is active. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any alert email, which immediately disables further alerts. To request full deletion, email hello@scoutcy.com. We will delete your data within 30 days of the request.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

As an EU resident you have the right to access, rectify, erase, and port your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any right, email hello@scoutcy.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

7. Cookies

ScoutCY does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. Vercel may set a technically necessary session cookie for DDoS protection. No consent banner is shown because no non-essential cookies are used.

8. Third-party listing data

Property listings displayed on ScoutCY are sourced from public third-party marketplaces. We do not collect personal data from those listings. If a listing contains personal information (e.g. a private seller’s phone number), that data originates from and belongs to the source marketplace. We link directly to the source for all contact information.

9. Changes to this policy

We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when material changes are made. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
